Are there any usable bridges in Stanwell Moor?
15/09/2025 | Staff | 0 commentsThe tiny and fairly pointless bridge in Hithermoor Road, in front of the King George VI reservoir, has been out of service for years. In the last few months, the two bridges near Lake Hithermoor (the flood relief artificial lake) have also been closed with barriers, with warnings panels: "The bridge is temporarily closed on health and safety grounds. Please use an alternative route".
A dog walker I met while walking along the lake said he spoke with a council employee and, apparently, the two bridges are dangerous to horses (because of their weight), not to humans.
Maybe the Spelthorne Council should start repairing these bridges...
